In this workshop, we will try to merge an actor in a Motion Capture (MOCAP) studio and an actor in a Television (TV) studio. The actors will see themselves together in a virtual performance space. At a Digital Dramaturgy seminar on Island, a manuscript for this experiment were developed. A theatre director from island are directing the theatre play in studio 1.
Technically, the MOCAP actor (Finland) will have a computer generated body, and the video mediated actor (Norway) will be acting in a green-screen room. During the theatre play, a multicamera “backstage” documentation will be produce for immediate play back for the audience. The seminar and discussion will be using the “observatory, S2” after the theatre play and documentation playback.
